

Porfirio “Hido”/”Perry” Baluyan Blado, 85 years old of Highland, California passed away on February 24, 2016, at Reche Canyon Rehab. Center in Colton. He was born on January 5, 1931 in Tuao, Cagayan, Philippines, to Manuel and Elisea Blado. He is survived by his wife, Lilian, daughter, Lirio Blado-Gregorio, son, Gardo Blado (Melissa) , granddaughter, Claudine Gregorio-Rieder (Stephen) and grandsons. Daniel Christopher E. and Joseph Emmanuel E. Blado. Also, his sisters, Josefina Blado Purisima and Rosario Blado Aguilar.
Porfirio worked as a Mechanical & Electrical Engineer for over 55 years in various industries, including paper manufacturing, textile manufacturing, food and beverage production, mining, hotel, and health.
Porfirio is the first engineering graduate from Tuao, Cagayan, Philippines inspiring countless other future engineers and professionals from his hometown to follow his example.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus since the 1950s, a former Secretary of the Marikina Heights chapter of the Lions Club, an elected public servant in the Philippines and the first elected President of the Tuaoenos Association of California.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 5, 2016, 4-8 pm, at Montecito Valley View Chapel, 3520 E. Washington St., Colton, California.
Porfirio will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
