In Loving Memory of Ramona Lara
September 23, 1951 – February 23, 2025
With hearts full of love and sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved Ramona Lara, a woman whose kindness, grace, and unwavering devotion shaped the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. She was more than a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend—she was home, the heart of our family, the place where love was endless and unconditional. Born on September 23, 1951, in El Paso, Texas, Ramona dedicated her life to caring for others. As a Registered Nurse at Kaiser, she brought comfort and healing to so many, but the role she cherished most was being the pillar of her family. She was the most loving mother to David, a wonderful mother-in-law to Yvonne, and the proudest grandmother to Ariel, Anthony, and great-grandmother to June. Her love for her family was limitless, and she made sure they never went a day without knowing just how much they meant to her. Ramona had a heart big enough to hold a lifetime of love. She was married to Ramiro Lara, and together, they built a beautiful life. After his passing, she found love again with Craig Owens, and the two of them traveled the world, filling her days with adventure and joy. She carried herself with a timeless elegance, always so effortlessly classy, with a warmth that made everyone feel special in her presence. Her greatest joys were the simplest moments—holding her grandchildren close, watching The Young & the Restless, spending magical days at Disneyland, and making memories with the people she loved most. She had a way of making everything feel a little more special, a little more beautiful, just by being there. She is survived by her loving brothers and sisters, who will forever cherish the memories they shared. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that her love will never fade—it lives on in the lessons she taught, the kindness she showed, and the love she poured into her family. A celebration of Ramona’s incredible life will be held on March 18th at 1pm at Montecito Memorial Park and Cemetary with the viewing on March 17th from 5-9pm. Though she is no longer with us, the love she gave so freely will remain with us forever.
