Homily part 3:
Those moments found him there beside the people he loved. In a world that often moves too fast, Raymond teaches us that one of the greatest gifts we can give another person is our presence, our attention, and our faithful companionship.

In today's second reading, Saint Paul tells us not to grieve as those who have no hope. We grieve because we loved Raymond deeply. But our sorrow is accompanied by faith. We believe that the same Lord who conquered death has opened the gates of eternal life.

The Book of Wisdom assures us that "the souls of the just are in the hand of God." Today, we place Raymond into those loving hands. The hands that guided him throughout his life are now welcoming him into eternal peace.

And so, we pray that the Good Shepherd whom Raymond served throughout his life will now lead him beside restful waters, into the house of the Lord where he may dwell forever.

May the Lord grant eternal rest to Raymond Paul Bingham. May his example continue to inspire future generations. And may his family find comfort in the promise that one day, through Christ, they shall see him again.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon him. May Raymond Paul Bingham rest in peace. Amen.

Homily part 2:
Many people have described Raymond as a protector, an advocate, and a friend. Whether serving as a Marine, participating in the American Legion, volunteering at the Rialto Senior Center, driving residents at El Rancho Mobile Home Park, or leading the Bingham family, he was always present when someone needed him. Some people lead by position; Raymond led by presence. He showed up. He was there. He supported. He encouraged. He protected.
The Twenty-Third Psalm tells us, "The Lord is my shepherd." A shepherd watches over the flock, protects the vulnerable, and walks beside them in times of danger. In many ways, Raymond reflected that shepherd-like care in his own family. He looked after those entrusted to him. He accompanied them through life's joys and struggles. He was a steady and reassuring presence.
Today, as we honor his legacy, I would like to share three lessons that the next generation can learn from Raymond's life.
First, cherish your family. Raymond understood that success is not measured primarily by possessions or titles but by relationships. His wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the treasure of his life. The greatest inheritance he leaves behind is not material wealth but the example of faithful love and devotion. The next generation honors him best by remaining close to one another, supporting one another, and keeping family bonds strong.
Second, live a life of service. Whether in military service, professional work, volunteer ministry, or helping neighbors, Raymond taught us that a meaningful life is a life given away. The world becomes better when ordinary people choose to serve others. His example reminds us that every act of kindness, every sacrifice, and every gesture of support has eternal value in the eyes of God.
Third, be present for those you love. One of the most beautiful things people remember about Raymond is that he showed up. Family gatherings, celebrations, hardships, and important moments.

Funeral Homily for Raymond Paul Bingham

 Wisdom 3:1-9; Psalm 23; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; John 11:21-27

My brothers and sisters in Christ,

Today we gather with heavy hearts, yet with Christian hope, to commend to God's loving mercy Raymond Paul Bingham, who was born on February 6, 1942, and called home to the Lord on September 30, 2026.

Whenever we lose someone we love, we experience the pain of separation. Yet the Word of God proclaimed today reminds us that death does not have the final word. In the Gospel, Martha mourns the death of her brother Lazarus, and Jesus makes one of the most powerful declarations in all of Scripture: "I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live." Those words are the foundation of our hope today.

We are not simply remembering a life that has ended. We are celebrating a life that has been transformed by the love and promises of God. Raymond Paul Bingham was a man who understood service. As the youngest of three children born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, he learned the values of family, hard work, and responsibility. He became a skilled cabinet maker, crafting with his hands and transforming raw materials into something useful and beautiful. He served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps aboard the USS Constellation, embracing the Marine commitment to duty, courage, and sacrifice. But beyond his professions and accomplishments, those who knew Raymond knew a man whose life was centered on people.

On December 4, 1965, he married the love of his life, Jeanne-Marie. That marriage became the foundation of a family that would grow to include children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Whether in New York, Southern California, or wherever life called him, his greatest pride was never found in his achievements but in those he loved and protected.

The Tipple's (David, Heather m, Megan, Mackenzie and Cody) extend our deepest sympathy.
We have been blessed to have become linked as a family due to James & Jordynn's relationship. However, as conversations happened and in person meetings occurred it appears we have been linked for much longer. Ray shared his story about he and David fishing next to each other years ago at Mt Lakes. Ray remembered David because of his prosthetic leg and "him being a nice guy"! Going further into the archives. It turns out that Michael and myself went to Jr high & High school together in Rialto where we grew up.
As we grow older sometimes the world gets smaller, so we think. I personally feel it's God placing just the right humans into our paths.
We pray that God will bless you all, keep your hearts full of beautiful memories and give you all His grace throughout this time with the mindset of knowing His kingdom awaits us all.
Much love and hugs from us to you.

My heart goes out to everyone who was blessed to have this man touch even a piece of their life. He was one of the kindest, most thoughtful, and loving men I have ever met. He was an amazing role model of what it meant to be, a God-fearing husband, father, grandfather, friend, and so many other titles. I I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to play games with him, go fishing with him, or just simply watch him in his happiest moments of spending time with his family.

I love you, Ray Bingham. Thank you for being a father figure to me and phenomenal role model to my children. You will be greatly missed and always loved. You undoubtedly left a legendary Legacy trailing behind you with all the morals and values that you instilled into so many lives. Rest Peacefully!
