On June 6th, 2024 Richard Dan Amador surrounded by his loving family peacefully passed away in the comfort of his own home. Richard is survived by his loving wife Lupe, three sons Richard Jr. (Ann Marie), Raymond (Lorena), Michael (Stephanie), eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, brother Deacon Bob (Lorenza)Amador, sister Dora Reyes, many nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Carmen and Dora Amador. Dickie as many knew him was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin, godfather, and friend to many. He was a long time resident of Colton, CA and involved in so many organizations.
Richard served in the Army National Guard straight out of high school working for ROHR Industries in Riverside, CA where he retired after 35 years. While working at ROHR Industries he also worked to become a San Bernardino Police Officer reserve then furthering his career he moved on to the San Bernardino Sheriff’s reserve. While doing so he was very involved in many organizations such as Knights of Columbus 4th Degree, Catholic War Veterans, Gents Organization, Latino Peace Officers Association, and American Legion Post 155 where he was a past Commander.
It doesn’t stop there Richard took a liking to music which then led him to form and play in many bands such as The Grandeurs, Maranatha, and last but not least Latin Flair. He co-founded Latin Flair with his late and dear friend Manuel (Piro) Romero. Richard played bass guitar in the band along side his two sons Raymond and Michael. He loved playing for his cities concerts in the park and being able to see his family dancing and cheering in the crowd.
If their was one thing Richard took pride in more then anything it was his family. He loved being able to get all his family together at one place whether it was to go camping or just a simple dinner. Once his sons started their own families his grandchildren became the light of his life. Any opportunity he had to see them he took it. From picking them up from school to traveling near or far to see them in their extra curricular activities he was there. Richard was such a dedicated man to everyone and everything he loved. He will forever live in his families and friends hearts with nothing but love and great memories.
