August 15, 1950 – October 12, 2018
Bob was born in Honolulu, Hawaii where his parents, Donald and Dorothy Christman, had moved to fulfill their commitment to God as missionaries for the Seventh-day Adventist Church. When Bob was two, their service led them to South America. At the age of 15, his parents moved their family of six back to the United States.
Bob loved his family greatly and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He is the father of four children, stepfather of two children and has four grandchildren.
He was a “big” man, with a big heart who lived a big life. He enjoyed playing the cello, piano, flying, traveling and hiking. His love for the natural beauty of the city and his enjoyment of politics inspired him to serve on the Loma Linda City Council for 20 years (part of that time as Mayor). Bob was instrumental in his work to save the hills of Loma Linda. He personally cared for everyone he encountered, family, friends and clients alike.
When God decided it was time for him to leave it left an empty space in all of us. He was an important part in everyone’s life, someone so many looked to for advice, a father figure, a friend, and a great listener.
He will be missed, forever loved, and remembered.
Service will be held at The Rock Church, 2345 S Waterman Avenue, San Bernardino, CA 92408 on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 2:00pm
Family visitation and light refreshments will be served immediately after.
