Robert A. Larrowe age 94 passed away peacefully November 10, 2013 after a lengthy illness. He is survived by three daughters: Kathy Hanrahan, Bonnie Townsend, and Pat Tate. He had 7 wonderful Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. In 1994 his wife of 53 years passed away and he later married Nancy Temple. He was born in Cochocton, New York in 1919 to a family that owned the Larrowe Milling Co. The company was responsible for the development of the sugar beets which were made into pulp and are fed to cattle. When he was 7 years old the family moved to Southern California near Long Beach. There, he met and married the love of his life Alvina K. Powell whose parents were farmers in Minnesota. After his service with the U. S. Army he studied and became an insurance broker. He loved working with and helping people in any way he could. His daughters always said, “We have never met anyone who didn’t just love our Dad.”

Growing up; we delighted in bringing our friends home the meet Dad as he would tell them story after story, all made up of course. They would sit and listen intently and be completely spellbound. His passion for story telling led him, in later years, to write several stories and a screen play. Looking for another challenge, he directed his efforts to wedding and model photography. He taught several photography classes at Crafton Hill College in Yucaipa.

He was a member of Toastmasters, NRA, IFMO, and various other professional and social organizations. This wonderful story teller will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Services will be held at Montecito Mortuary in Colton with viewing on Sunday Nov 17th from 4-8 and the service on Monday Nov 18th at 1pm, both in the Valley View Chapel. Interment will follow at Montecito Memorial Park.

So sad to hear of Bob's passing, but happy for him to be with his first love again. I'm sure his reunion with Alvina was very sweet. Bob was always so fun to be around and made spending time with him memorable. He will be missed by many and remembered always. Much love to the family at this time, and to Travis too! Laurie Privet
