

Robert R Mendieta Sr. passed away at the age of 70 on Saturday February 25, 2017. He was survived by his wife, Maria, of 40 years, parents Esperanza and Paul Mendieta (deceased), sisters Erlinda (Donald) Lawson, Olga (Robert) Longrie, Angelina (Nicholas) Cutean, Delores (Joe) Saiz, Virginia (Richard) Tapia, Delia (James) Pruett, Gloria (Steve) Chrisman, Paul Mendieta Jr. (Deceased), Natalie (Randy) Whitney, Pauline Mendieta and Julia Mendieta.
Children Marty (Melissa) Mendieta, Robert R (Veronica) Mendieta Jr, Anthony J (Evelyn) Ortega, Veronica (Mike) Pearson, Paul-Isaac Mendieta. In addition to his children, Robert is survived by 13 devoted grand-children, 1 great grand-child and numerous nieces and nephews. Also missed by a cousin who he considered a brother Ray (Yolanda) Mendieta, loving friends Maria Chaparro, Rand Friberg, Kit Miller and Ray Praul.
Robert served our country in the U.S. Navy (4yrs), owned and operated his own business and worked in the pipe fitting industry for 35 years, moved to California in 1988 from Michigan to build his dream home (by his own hands), retired at the age of 55. He loved cooking, riding his Harley with his friends, they called him VBOB, working on hot rods and loving his animals.
He leaves a legacy of love as well as cherished memories that will keep him forever in our hearts and minds. Viewing will be on March 3rd from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and the funeral service will be March 4th 10:00 a.m. at Montecito Memorial Park- 3520 East Washington Street Colton, CA 92324. Burial service is to be determined at Riverside National Cemetery.
