Roland was a true friend to me, for the last 26 years. When we first moved to Grand Terrace, CA, back in 1987, we did not know one person in the area.I was out in the garage re-arranging some boxes when I heard somebody say, " I see you're having some trouble with that overhead door."
The wind was so strong, and the door was so heavy that it had slammed down suddenly a couple of times. At that moment, I had it propped up with a 2x4. So, that was the beginning of a great friendship.At first, Roland fixed everything for me, and I was the eager helper. We talked endlessly, with a lot of laughs. Eventually he taught me how to fix things for myself, amidst many hearty laughs, and a lot of interesting stories. He loved his wife dearly, and everybody in his entire family...so completely obvious through all of our conversations.We talked about sports a lot too.He even knew everybody in my family, always remembering names and asking how they were doing. Roland had a kind heart and he was genuine with his concern. I am truly blessed to have been one of his friends for these many years. He was a real man and a true American. I pray that the Good Lord will care for him and give him peace, forever.

My precious Uncle Sonny (Roland Troy) you will be so missed by everyone who knew you. You brought so much joy and laughter to us all.  Barb, Ricky and Aunt Pinky we send all of our love and prayers to you all and wish that we could be there with you all.  Remember God Loves All Of You and Is With You Through This Difficult Time!
