Ruben, also known as "MAJ" at the Army Navy Academy in Carlsbad was a member of its first graduating class in 1937. He became a successful Chamber of Commerce Executive in the 1940's till the 1970's when he and his wife Nancy joined Glenn Coon's A B C's of Prayer Crusade and traveled throughout the country as volunteers for the next thirty years teaching listeners how to claim God's promises. While established in Chamber of Commerce work, the Neuharth family lived in National City, Inglewood, and Escondido where Ruben was also a faithful member and Elder in the Seventh-day Adventist Churches of Inglewood, Escondido, and San Marcos along with managing the Prayer Crusade with the Coon family.
Ruben is survived by three children and their spouses, Gary & Betty/Elizabeth Neuharth of Redlands, Dennis & Claire Neuharth of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Don & Nancy Neuharth Troyer of Banning, CA. Ruben was preceded in death by son Steven Ruben Neuharth and daughter-in-law Sharilyn (Taylor) Neuharth in 1975 and wife Nancy (Hutchinson) Neuharth in 2010. Ruben and Nancy were married for 74 years. He leaves six grandchildren, Ray Neuharth, Michele Neuharth Vick, Daniele Neuharth Binder, Rosie Neuharth, Garyadam Neuharth, Stephanie Troyer and great granddaughter Tiffany Sharon. In his spare time, Ruben blessed his children by publishing two Pacific Press books, Steven Neuharth's "Don't Look Down" by Richard Utt and Nancy Neuharth Troyer's "The Other Side of the Boat" edited by Robert O. Vincent. His last words to his children and all his many friends were a soft but fervent, "Thank you!" It is our prayer that our father Ruben may rest securely in the Everlasting Arms till Jesus comes again!
