Bunny was born in Hagatna, Guam, July 9, 1946, to Ana Torre Sgambelluri and Salvatore Giovanni Sgambelluri. Bunny was a proud graduate of Father Duenas Memorial School in 1964. Bunny served in the U.S. Army from September 1964 to September 1967.
“Education First,” was Bunny’s motto about continued learning throughout his life. He earned a B.A. in Business & Management from the University of Guam, where he graduated Cum Laude and a Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University. He had 38 years’ experience working as a supervisor, manager, and administrator in both the private and public sector. His lifelong commitment to teaching was always his top priority. He retired as a Government of Guam employee and adjunct professor at GCC, teaching math and accounting.
Bunny and his family resided on the island of Guam for over 30 years; and speaking his native tongue, the Chamorro language, was something of which he was proud. Later, he and Donna, his wife, relocated to Redlands, California, where he shared a home with his loving family.
His ultimate pride and joy was spending quality time with his family. Bunny was blessed to have by his side, his wife, Donna Sue of 51 years, 4 wonderful children, 13 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
Bunny’s talents and hobbies were vast and numerous. He was a self-taught painter, whose artistic talents were identified at the age of 8 when he as frequently called up on by his teachers to sketch various art projects. While earning his doctorate in Oklahoma, he achieved the rank of black belt in the discipline of Taekwondo. He also loved golfing, singing, reading, fishing, and going to the movies.
He was a man of God and member of the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Community in Redlands, California. He was a beloved son, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, community volunteer, and friend who was loved by all.
