Socorro Contreras

Socorro, was born on June 27, 1957. She loved her parents Antonia and Mayo Gonzalez and all her siblings. As a little girl, she had a big caring, humble and compassionate heart. She always looked out for her youngest brothers and when she got bit older, she also care for her nephew’s and nieces.

In the year 1979, Socorro got married to Luis Contreras. One year later Socorro, had her first child, Valerie. Few years later, Socorro, had another child Robert. Socorro was an excellent wife and mother to her husband and children. Her life was dedicated to her husband, children and grandchildren. Socorro made sure her family had everything she can offer and more.

In 2007, Socorro became a first time grandma aka Abuela. Then throughout the years, 2013, 2014 and 2017 she had more grandchildren. If you knew Socorro, everyone knew how she loved all her grand-babies, Louis, Jr, Ericka and Jorge. They were her world, her everything. She even loved Katie(family dog) even thought they both were always fighting but they sure loved each other.

In 2011, unfortunately Socorro was diagnosed with breast cancer. She fought so many years to beat the cancer. Her strength came from God, she was a prayer warrior, a woman of God, she believed in God all the way until the day she took her last breath. Socorro strength to keep fighting all this years was her god, her faith, her husband, her children and all her grand babies. She fought a good fight. Till the day God wanted her to come back home. We going to miss her so much and it’s so painful without our mom, wife, Abuela and sister but your not in pain anymore.

If you ever ask me, who was the strongest person you ever met, my answer will be Socorro!

A memorial service for Socorro will be held Friday, December 22, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Cypress Chapel, 24145 Barton Road, Loma Linda, CA 92354.
