Our Father Socorro M Garcia(Cuate) was born & raised in San Bernardino in 1934. His parents were Josephino & Elpidia(Pia) Garcia. He had one older brother Jesus (Chuy) , his twin brother Manuel(Cuate) and an infant sister Sarah. Our Father was the last remaining sibling from his family.
Our Grandparents settled in San Bernardino, Our Grandfather worked for the Pacific Electric Railroad. The family lived in the humble section houses near the company. This area was in one of the original varrios known as" The Velarde".
Our Father attended Meadowbrook elementary school. He later attended Washington Elementary . He went to Richardson Jr. High & graduated from S.B.H.S class of 1953. He was a proud Cardinal.
Our parents were married in 1956. Together our parents had 3 children. Frederick, Mary Ann & Eleanor. Our Dad leaves 7 Grandchildren & 9 Great Grandchildren. 1 Great great grandchild due in September.
Our Family moved to "Calle J" where we were surrounded by lifelong friends & neighbors. Our parents divorced. Our Father remained on "Calle J " for over 50 years. Our Dad had a love of family and many friends over his lifetime. His hobbies were taking home movies and always having a camera to capture many memories. He loved listening to Mexican music. He attended many concerts. He loved going to the Casino to play Keno & roulette.
He leaves many memories for us to cherish. He will be missed by all that knew him. God rest his soul.
