Maria Del Socorro Valenzuela Villa Heredia, lovingly known as Socorro Villa Heredia, passed away on April 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
She was born on September 11, 1927, in Sonora, Mexico, to Rosalia Valenzuela Villa and Rafael Villa, and moved to Douglas, Arizona as a child. She became a United States citizen in 1955. Her life was built on hard work, faith, and devotion to her family.

She served as an administrative secretary for the Colton School District. She later worked for the Franchise Tax Board as a tax collector, where she dedicated many years of service before retiring. After earning her college degree, she went on to work as a bilingual aide for the Upland School District.
Traveling was a great joy of hers and made lasting memories visiting Spain, Portugal, Greece, and Jerusalem with close friends.
Socorro was preceded in death by her three children, Rosalia Perales, Susanna Negrete, and Joseph Heredia, and her brothers Oscar Villa, Armando Villa, and Ralph Villa.
She is survived by her children Mario (Lucille), Ruben (Becky), Ron (Paula), and Jesus, whom she loved and raised as her own, along with 23 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
