March 3, 1941 to November 15, 2018
On March 3rd, 1941 the life of Socorro began in the small town of Etzatlan, Jalisco. She was born to two loving parents Alfonso Romero and Maria de Jesus Meza. Socorro was the first of 11 children born. She attended school until the 5th grade before being pulled to lend a helping hand at home. At the age of 21 she decided to begin her life in Mexicali, Mexico. One year later she met the love of her life Francisco Reyes. She gave birth to 4 healthy children, Yolanda, Francisco, German and Norma dedicating her life to her children. Socorro, Francisco, and their 4 children moved to the Imperial Valley in 1979. She was a loving and caring grandmother and great grandmother to 9 grandchildren: Melissa, Kent, Stephanie, Daniel, Valerie, Patricia, Francisco, Claudia, and 1 great granddaughter Gizelle.
Socorro liked to be called Mama Coco by her grandchildren and Coco by her friends. She really enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening. Her favorite flowers were roses, calla Lilies and Mums but most of all she enjoyed visiting the local Casinos.
Coco was extremely excited to attend her granddaughters’ weddings in the spring of 2019, but God called her home sooner than expected. Heaven gained a new angel on November 15th. There is comfort knowing that she’s no longer in pain and that she’s enjoying eternal life with her loved ones. For many of us she was a loving sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.
Rest In Peace Coco, you were never be forgotten
