Sujati Arifin

Sujati Arifin, age 93, is now in the presence of the Lord. Sujati was born in Yogyakarta, Central Java, Indonesia on March 12, 1927. Her father was a small store owner, and her mother was a homemaker. Her mother passed away when she was only twelve years old. Her father raised her and her two brothers alone until he, too, passed away 50 years ago.

Sujati was blessed to have four children; she practically raised her four children by herself. She was a fashion designer/dressmaker and a baker; she was good at using her hands. She learned most of her cake making and baking skills straight from her grandmother; she could learn any recipes by heart. This also explains that when she decided to go to baking and pastry school to learn more about making pastry, she ended up making cakes and all the yummies better than her own teacher did.

She moved to the US permanently in 2001 and was living with her youngest daughter when the Lord called her. Our loving mom, grandmother, great grandmother was and has always been a wonder woman to all of us; she was generous, compassionate, forgiving, kind, and gentle, and she always had a beaming, infectious smile. You will ALWAYS be in our hearts, minds, and prayers. We won’t say goodbye to you our dearest and sweetest angel, but….till we meet again!
