

Sukanya Thowtho, 66, passed away on April 6, 2015 in Banning, California at San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Chavalit Thowtho, daughters Rosalind Thowtho and Rosanna McBride, son Art (Chuckgrich) Thowtho, and grandchildren Brandon, Leah & Hailey McBride as well as her expected grandson, Evan Nirun Thowtho (to be born in June 2015). A memorial service will be held at Montecito Valley View Chapel, 3520 E. Washington Street in Colton, California on Saturday, April 11th, with the viewing from 4-6pm and service at 6pm. A Celebration of Life reception will be held at the home of her son, Art Thowtho at 36011 Stableford CT, Beaumont 92223.
Sukanya was born to Sawang and Lek Nirandorn on September 27, 1948 in Bangkok, Thailand. She had three sisters and six brothers. She studied midwifery and nursing in Thailand and graduated from the nursing school at Bangkok Adventist Hospital in 1972. As a nurse in Thailand, she assisted in the successful birth of over 200 babies.
In 1973 Sukanya married Chavalit Thowtho. They immigrated to the United States in 1976, settling in Loma Linda, California. Sukanya and Chavalit had three children - Rosalind, Rosanna and Art. While living in California, Sukanya was employed as a nurse and later as a lab assistant at Riverside Community Hospital for over 20 years.
Sukanya was regarded by those who knew her as loving, kind and nurturing. She cared for all living creatures and had a particular affinity for gardening. Her sense of humor was witty and playful. Family was of utmost importance to her, and she loved nothing more than being surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
