January 19, 1945 – June 11, 2026
Sylvia “Dorie” Minjares was born on January 19, 1945, in San Bernardino, California, and entered into eternal rest on June 11, 2026.
Dorie was a devoted wife to her husband, Robert, for 54 years, a loving mother to Robert Jr., Valerie, and Brian. A cherished grandmother to Emilio and is now reunited with him in heaven. She treasured her granddaughter’s Sierra, Layla, Marissa, Harmoni and her great granddaughter Lily Mae. As a stay-at-home wife and mother, she created a home filled with love, comfort, and lasting memories for her family. She had a warmth about her that made everyone feel welcome and was known for her forgiving heart and kind spirit.
Dorie loved cheering on the Dodgers, watching The Price Is Right, working on crossword puzzles, tending to her garden, spending time outdoors- she loved her morning walks, and sharing trips to the casino with her sister Angie. She enjoyed listening to her record collection, especially during Christmastime when music filled her home. Her beloved dog, Lola, was a constant companion who stayed faithfully by her side through everything.
In the final months of her life, Dorie grew even stronger in her faith and openly shared her love for Christ. Her faith brought her comfort, peace, and strength throughout her journey. After a courageous battle with Stage 4 stomach cancer, Dorie passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home on June 11, 2026, with her loved ones by her side. She will be remembered for her laughter, her love, and her unwavering devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
