Terry grew up in Southern California and enjoyed riding horses, playing trumpet, water polo, and scouting. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout in his early teens. At the age of 19 he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints laboring in the Eastern Atlantic States Mission.
When he returned from his mission, Terry continued his education at BYU in Provo. During this time he met Mary Seay who was working as a nurse. Months later they married in the St George Utah Temple on April 2, 1971. After graduating they moved their growing family of 4 to Yucaipa California.
The majority of Terry’s career was focused on special education at the jr. high school level and he had a passion for helping his students learn and succeed. As he taught, his family continued to grow until they had 10 children. He loved his large family and supported them with second and third jobs when needed so that they could have the opportunity to explore their talents and enjoy family outings and activities.

He is survived by his wife Mary Jacqueline Wilson, his 10 children: Terry, Jeremy, Kerry, Jamy, Cassy, Mandy, Misty, Yancy, Christy, Mary, 36 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
