January 26, 1949 – June 18, 2025
With deep sorrow and profound love, we celebrate the life of Tom Falther White—a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and faithful servant of God.
Tom was born on January 26, 1949, in Chesapeake, Virginia, to Russell White and Letha Jones. He was the fourth of six children and was lovingly raised by his maternal grandmother, Mattie Riddick, in Norfolk, Virginia. It was there that his spiritual journey began, attending Philadelphia Church of Christ in Chesapeake, where the seeds of faith and compassion were planted in his heart.
A determined and hardworking young man, Tom joined Job Corps, where he earned his high school diploma. He went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps, embodying courage, discipline, and a deep sense of duty.
In 1976, Tom met the love of his life, Frankie. Their connection was instant—love at first sight. Just two weeks after meeting, they were married on October 1, 1976, beginning a beautiful journey of love and partnership that would span nearly five decades. Together, they raised eight children: Thomas, Shanika, Nicole (Lovey), April Mae, Tommy Lee, Tom Jr., Paul, and Leeann.
Tom was a man of extraordinary kindness and unwavering faith. He lived his life as a reflection of God’s love—always ready to help those in need, bring laughter to those around him, and offer a listening ear, a warm embrace, or a word of encouragement. His heart was open to all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell White and Letha Jones; his grandmother, Mattie Riddick; his siblings, Alfonso White, Jimmy White, Mable (Nick) Mullen, Richard White, and Louise White; his beloved wife, Frankie White; his daughter, Nicole (Lovey) Williams; and his great-granddaughter, Journee Miracle Packer.
Tom leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and faith that will continue to inspire all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his beloved children: Thomas (Lonnise), Shanika, April, Tommy Lee, Tom (Tamara), Paul Sr., and Leeann (Charles); his grandchildren: Thomas Jr., Ebony, Teasia, Thomaj, Johntay, Johntayveon (Cameryn), Johnteaera (Calvin), Johnshanik, JohnJohn, Anika, Bryanna, Alayia, Robbie , Christopher, Katina, Kalan, Kevin Jr., Dayvon, Tyrae, Brian, Layana, Lailani, Laijanae, King, Tatum, Tori, Autumn, Paul Jr., Navaeh, Jordan, Kirk, and Charles Jr.; his great-grandchildren: Kai, Aiden, Jayden, Chosen, Jabari, and Johntay Jr.; four sister in laws and one brother in law: Gerelene Britt, Linda Britt, Peggy Harris, Verdis Griffin and Samuel (Sammy) Jones, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.

Safely Home
I am home in heaven, dear ones,
Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty
in this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over,
every restless tossing passed.
I am now at peace forever,
safely home in heaven at last.
There is still work waiting for you,
so you must not idly stand.
Do it now, while life remaineth,
you shall rest in God’s own land.
When that work is all completed,
He will gently call you home.
Ah, the rapture of that meeting,
Oh, the joy to see you come!
