Virginia Johnson, lovingly known as Ginny, brought joy and warmth into the world on May 19th, 1930 in Kansas City, Missouri, to her parents Mary (Freese) and Charles Johnson. She grew up and graduated from Central Sr. High in 1947, embarking on a journey filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Ginny's life took a beautiful turn when she earned her Home Economics degree from Arizona State College in Tempe, now ASU. It was during this time that she met the love of her life, Trini Aceves, with whom she started a family and settled in San Bernardino. Their union was blessed with four wonderful sons and a daughter, and Ginny found great joy in nurturing their diverse talents throughout her lifetime. While raising her children, Ginny touched the lives of countless others through her role as a teacher at the Parent Participation Preschool for San Bernardino Adult Education. For an impressive 30 years, she devoted her time and energy to imparting knowledge and love to the young minds she encountered. Ginny's dedication to education was matched by her active involvement in TOPS, where she not only participated but also served as a KOPS member for three decades. Additionally, she showcased her swimming skills in the local Senior Olympics for many years. Retirement did not slow Ginny down; in fact, it opened new doors for her to explore and learn. She fearlessly embraced new hobbies such as magic and Hawaiian dancing, constantly seeking to expand her horizons. It is challenging to capture the full extent of Ginny's accomplishments and social affiliations in this space, but one thing is certain: she was a remarkable and precious woman who graced everyone she encountered with her genuine kindness and infectious smile. No stranger remained a stranger for long in Ginny's presence; she effortlessly turned them into lifelong friends. Ginny leaves behind a loving legacy, survived by three of her sons: James, Kenny (Lori), Tom (Kathy), and her daughter, Teresa McGonigal (Robert, Sr.). She also leaves behind ten adoring grandchildren: Melissa Herceg, Michael Aceves, Nicole Kirkwood, Nicholas Aceves, Kristopher Aceves, Kayla Aceves, Kenny Aceves, Mikaija Aceves, R. Patrick McGonigal, and Maeve McGonigal. Five great-grandchildren, her brother Bill, numerous nieces and nephews, and a multitude of friends join in mourning her loss. Ginny is now reunited with her beloved husband, Trini, her oldest son, Tony, her brother Robert, and her parents. As we reflect on Ginny's life, let us remember her as a vibrant and loving soul who touched the hearts of all those fortunate enough to know her. Her spirit will continue to live on, forever cherished in our memories.
Ginny requested everyone wear bright happy colors to her services. Thank you for honoring her in this way.

Love Shines Through
“Like a shadow in the moonlight, like the whisper of the seas, like the echoes of a melody, just beyond our reach, in the shadow of our sorrow
past the whisper of goodbye, Love shines through eternity, a heartbeat from our eye”
