Virginia was a native of Texas, born in Cleburne, Texas on June 15,1937. She was the daughter of the late Jack Elmer Green and Ruth Dean (Tribble) Green. Virginia graduated from Cleburne High School in 1955. She went on to hold legal secretarial positions for various attorneys, eventually retiring from Whittaker Industries in1996. In Virginia’s spare time she loved to travel with her husband Tom and dedicated herself to spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Virginia was pre-deceased by her daughters Dana Grossman and Abbe (Glover) Rohr and her brother, Jack Green. She is survived by her wonderful husband of 41 years, Tom Owens; 2 daughters, Gina Lee (Bill) of Yucaipa, CA and Michelle Valles (Mike) of Menifee, CA; 4 sons, James Holliday (Deanna) of Burleson, TX, Mark Owens (Kathy) and Mike Owens (Debbie) of Highland, CA, and Mitch Owens (Kathy) of Peoria, AZ; 13 granddaughters, Natalie Newell, Stephanie Daniels, Christina Rohr, Sophia and Julia Lee, Blake Hardeman, Madison, Amanda, Alicia, Cydney and Taylor Owens, Nicole Boyd, and Rochelle Robbins; 7 great grandchildren, Paisley and Wyatt Hardeman, Rosalyn Gallardo, Dustin Boyd, Jordan Deroma, and Gibson and Dean Robbins; sister Sylvia Galvin (Larry) of Cleburne, TX, and brother, Billy Davidson of North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Services will be held at Montecito Memorial Park and Mortuary on Friday, January 4th 2019, 9:00 am – 10:00 am with graveside service at 10:30 am. Services will be officiated by Chaplain Anthon Hall.
Virginia, daughter, sister, wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma and aunt will be remembered as “Our Beautiful Yellow Rose of Texas”.
