He was born August 18, 1937 at home in Mattoon, IL. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Walter and Hazel and sister Leanna. He is survived by wife Lorinda, son David Alan and daughter Connie Lyne McKenzie and her husband John, daughters Felicia and Holli and son Jonathan. Walter was very proud of his three grandchildren. Also survived by his brother Gary Lee and wife Ruth, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
He moved to CA at the age of twelve.
Walter was in the first graduating class when Pacific High School opened in 1955. Attended and graduated from San Bernardino Valley College in 1959 with an AA degree in Electronics.
After college he went to work for AT&SF Railway as an Electronic Technician for the County of Riverside retiring as Communications Maintenance Supervisor in the year 2000 with 38 years of service.
Services will be January 25th , 1:00pm at Montecito Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3520 E. Washington Street, Colton, CA 92324
