Wilfredo Preligera Rempis

Wilfredo Preligera Rempis was born on September 13, 1949 in Tinampo Ligao Albay, Philippines to Ciriaco and Juana Preligera Rempis. He had 12 siblings. Willy went to college at the Aquinas University in Legaspi City to become an engineer. He didn't finish due to his opportunity to enter the U.S. Navy in 1970. He had a successful career as a U.S. Navy, starting out as a cook, then retiring as a Navy Chief E7 in 1990 at the age of 40.

After retiring in the Navy, Willy went to school and completed 3 careers in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management and Accounting. He then worked his 2nd career at the Veterans Administration Hospital in the eligibility department for 20 years.

Willy enjoyed gardening, loved to sing on the karaoke, traveling with friends and spending time with his loved ones and family. But most remembered, he loved to sleep! He would be talking to us, then suddenly he is sleeping in the corner.

Willy is survived by his wife, Leticia (Rayton) Rempis, son Gerald, 2 daughters, Jennifer and Cheryl; his 3 grandchildren Kailee, Dean and Sammie. He also has 8 nieces in California, Cherry, Eden, Tina, Jamie, Nicole, Jessica, Mary and Gloria. Willy also has many nephews and nieces in the Philippines. He still has 3 siblings that are living in the Philippines, Hilda Radores, Manuel Rempis and Ciriaco Rempis Jr.

Willy will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, lolo and friend. He is our hero and inspiration, and he will forever be in our hearts by his family and friends.

Viewing will be held from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Sunday, April 28, 2019 with a Rosary at 4:00pm and a Mass at 6:00pm. Chapel service will be held at 10:00am on Monday, April 29, 2019 both at Montecito Memorial Park and Mortuary, Valley View Chapel, 3520 E. Washington Street, Colton, CA 92324. Wilfredo will be laid to rest after the services at 1:00pm at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA 92518, Staging Area #1.
