Thanks for sharing all the photos of Arthur in all phases of his life! He was such  a gem. I got to know him as a classmate at the Traditional Acupuncture Institute and also as a colleague at the Penn-North Resource Cdnter. What happened in his presence there was amazing. He’d often park his small, quiet, sometimes shaky self next to the most agitated person in the room. A little contact, maybe a few needles, not a lot of words. He’d just stay put there while the person he was with - and the room all around them - settled into a palpably different - and more praceful! - place. He was a lovely man and a gifted healer. I am better for having known him.

Art was a wonderful friend.  My favorite memory is his ability to
make my sister Teddy laugh...especially the last months of her
life.

Uncle Art was a bright light in our lives. He would show up when my sister and I were just little kids in his white sailor’s uniform always with a big smile on his face and in an upbeat mood. Many years later, even though my dad couldn’t attend my wedding, Uncle Art and Sonja came all the way to Manhattan to celebrate with us. I’m sure that my new husband appreciated the advice he received from him. 

Art  had a sweet, generous, endearing spirit and was always ready to lend a hand or a caring ear. These traits were consistent throughout his life and made him an effective lawyer and later a healer. Unfortunately, geographic distances came between us, but Arthur will always be remembered. His love will live on in our hearts. 

I first met Arthur in 1998 when we were both working at the Men's Detention Center finishing up our CHI site requirements, he Paul Buchman and I would go out to lunch at least one Friday a month and Art would tell us stories about his life, it was really incredible. Then Arthur and I worked together doing the NADA protocol as supervisors for the schools and Art was always a great teacher for the students- so many told me about how they learned from Arthur to do the "Surrender Walk". and to needle like they were doing Qi Gong and using all one motion. We worked together at Penn North where the patients, once they knew him would ask for that man- that man who did something they didn't know but made them feel better each time! And Arthur was his own man! with a lot of integrity! I will miss Art, but in some ways I have more access  to him now because what i know is that he is a shining beacon and his presence is holy. He is watching out for all of us- helping us. 

Arthur had a profound influence on my journey as a healer. May he rest in ARCH light. 

I have so many memories of Art as he taught me how to needle ears in the near dark.  Him watching quietly then saying the most profound things, things I think about daily.   He was so kind and unassuming.  Every time I saw him his face was a full smile.... I am grateful for his words, wisdom, kindness a teachings that live on when I needle ears or tell my children “what other people think of you is none of your business”

Arthur epitomized kindness and presence.  In a room full of people, Arthur’s focus of attention was like a lazer beam of love. I will miss his wisdom, his honesty, his sense of humor, and his loyal friendship.  I believe the earth is a better place for his having been here. He will always have a special place in my heart.
