He graduated from China Textile University in 1963. He worked as a textile engineer in Shanghai No. 27 textile factory and Shanghai non-woven textile factory in different technical and management positions. He retired in December 1987.
Baochu has great passion in running, he was a regular marathon runner. Baochu also enjoyed playing Chinese chess and Mahjong with friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Lingfang; his daughters Mingxia, Minghua and Mingyu. He is also survived by his son Changqi and daughter Mingzhu from first marriage. Survivors also include three sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, six grandchildren (four granddaughters and two grandsons) and two great grandsons.
