Diana L. Bodie passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 20, 2022. Diana was the beloved wife of the late Charles (“Charlie”) A. Bodie III; loving mother to Charles A. Bodie IV, Robert B. Bodie, and Jovi Bodie Bohan; grandmother of Jordan Burgess; daughter of Jean Rodeheaver and the late Robert (“Bob”) Rodeheaver, and sister of Janet Fritz.
Diana was born at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, MD. She grew up in the Middle River area and attended Kenwood High school. She met the love of her life, Charlie, when they both worked for Western Electric. On May 14, 1983, Diana married Charlie and became a stepmother to Jovi. She enjoyed going out to dinner, weekend getaways, and spending time at the family summer house (the “shore”) in Pasadena, Maryland. She loved getting her nails done, country music, and Mickey Mouse.
She gave birth to identical twins, Charles and Robert, in October 1985. She loved spending time with her family, especially at the shore and in Ocean City. She enjoyed riding in boats, going to the beach, and spending time in the water even though she never learned to swim. Diana loved watching her sons run track when they were young and was very proud of their achievements throughout life.
She worked to live after the twins were born working the night shift at Lionel Kiddy City so she could meet them at the bus stop after school. She later worked for the Howard County Public School System until she retired in 2013.
After she retired and Charlie passed away, Diana moved to Florida where she learned to line dance and play golf. She liked spending time with her friends listening to live music at the square, playing trivia at happy hour, and lounging by the pool. She loved the warm weather and really enjoyed her winters in Florida. In the summers, she enjoyed coming back to Maryland to spend time with her family and relax at the shore. She eventually moved back to Maryland after her health started to decline and was able to spend a lot of quality time with her children.
