Faye Irish Henderson

Faye graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University ofMaine at Orono, taught high school in New Haven, Connecticut, and, afterearning a Master of Liberal Arts degree at the John Hopkins University, workedas an information specialist for the US Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance. Overfifteen years of service, she traveled on disaster readiness assignments to Haiti,the Philippines, and Madagascar, and on disaster response teams toZagreb, Croatia, during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Faye is survived byher husband Harry, sons Eric, Peter, and Stephen, daughters-in-law Laura andDiana, and grandchildren Thomas, Christopher, Geoffrey, Julia, and Cari. A memorial service will be held on Sunday,May 3, at 2:00 pm, at Christ Episcopal Church, in Columbia, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made toDoctors Without Borders or the International Rescue Committee in her memory.
