Frances McDonough

Frances was born on May 20, 1947, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Otha and Barbara Sherrill. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert McDonough, and her parents.

Frances dedicated 35 years of her career to Verizon, where she built lasting friendships and touched many lives. But her greatest joy was always her family. She loved her children and was deeply devoted to her grandchildren. She took tremendous pride in each of them and loved nothing more than supporting them in their many activities, cheering them on, and being there for the moments that mattered.

Frances also had a love for adventure and seeing the world. She enjoyed traveling to new places and especially loved cruising with The Group creating memories that she cherished.

She will be remembered for the love she gave so freely, her fierce loyalty, her feisty attitude, her devotion to her family, her adventurous spirit, and the countless memories she created with those she loved. She leaves behind her children, Theresa Liddy and Mark McDonough; her son-in-law and daughter-in-law, Sean Liddy and Julia McDonough; her five grandchildren, Abby, Breccan, Livy, Fallon, and Kelly; and her beloved cats, Mason, Fiona, and Maybe.

Frances was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though her absence leaves an unimaginable hole in the hearts of those who loved her, her memory will live on through the family she cherished so deeply and the many lives she touched.

A Simple Gathering will be held at Witzke Funeral Homes Inc., 5555 Twin Knolls Road, Columbia, MD 21045, US, on August 30, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at the same location on August 30, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
