Frederick Carl Jurgens

On September 8, 2014, FREDERICK CARL JURGENS, 79, of Ellicott City, MD, passed peacefully at Gilchrist Hospice. Born on November 10, 1934 in New York City to the late Cornelius and Cecilia Jurgens. He is the beloved husband of Ingrid Jurgens (nee Gates) for 58 years; caring father of Pam and her husband Kevin, and Ellen and her husband Frank; devoted grandfather of Lauren, Tyler, Michael and Grant. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 1967 and continued to be an active Alumnus, Corporal in the US Army from 1954-1957. Engineer at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab for 43 years retiring in 2000. Active member of Second English Lutheran Church in Baltimore for 54 years. Frederick Enjoyed traveling, cooking, swimming and woodworking.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 10 from 6-9PM at WITZKE FUNERAL HOMES, INC.; 5555 Twin Knolls Road; Columbia, MD 21045. A Funeral Service will be celebrated 10AM, Thursday, September 11 at Second English Lutheran Church; 5010 Briarclift Road; Baltimore, MD 21229. Interment in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Gilchrist Hospice Care, Inc.; 11311 McCormick Road; Suite 350; Hunt Valley, MD 21031.
