Dad,

It's been a full year since I've seen you.  I remember everything about that evening so clearly in my mind.  I wish I could go back to that night because there were some things that I would do differently.

I miss you so much.  You were a good dad.  You were a kind, generous person.  You were a hard worker before you retired and a good provider for your family. You taught me so much - and gave me so much.  Thank you for loving me.  I never doubted that I was loved very much.  I wish I had told you how much I loved you back.

I hope you can hear me when I talk to you.  There is so much I didn't get to say while you were here.  

Sometimes, I feel like a little girl who just wants to hear some loving words from her Daddy.  You are missed.

To the Irwins in Arkasas. Please extend appoligies to Norma-Jean, as her last name was printed incorrectly in the obituary. I also want Heath and Derek to know that    I considered listing them as grandchildren but I was afraid that there was a third whose name I didn't know and I didn't want to leave out anyone accidently. By the time I could verify that there were no other grandchildren - the deadline had passed.

What a blessing that you, Teresa, & your girls were able to spend so much time with your Dad!  Keep those memories alive!  What peace you must have knowing he is now with your brother in Heaven!

Our thoughts are with all of you during this difficult time.  Although Kaylyn, Alex and I didn't know your dad, we are holding you and your family up in our prayers!  I know what a devoted and caring daughter you have been to him and I know how proud he must be of you and your girls.

My brother George was 17 when I was born, and moved out on his own when I was very little.  I wish I had known him better during those years, but life has a way of pulling us apart as well as bringing us together.  I remember he was a smart man with a dry sense of humor.  When I got to know him better in later life, I learned how much he loved his family and how hard he worked.  He also served his country in the National Guard for many years.   

I wish he had lived longer, but he had a long life and passed peacefully.

I will miss him.

Teresa -  I remember you speaking fondly of your father.  I feel like I knew him a little through you. You were blessed and he was blessed to have such a loving daughter.

I knew George for a very long time. He was a good hard working man who gave many years in the service of our country. He will be missed.
