Helen Abitabilo

Helen Orrico Abitabilo died peacefully on December 9, 2013. She was born in New York City, met and married her beloved Tom in 1940. They lived in the Bronx before retiring to Pompano Beach, FL for 15 years. They then moved to Columbia, MD in December of 2000. Helen and Tom moved into Brighton Gardens in January 2005 and were lovingly cared for until their deaths. Helen is predeceased by her husband of 70 years and all of her siblings. She is survived by three children: Patricia Latteri of Columbia, MD; Thomas Jr. of Massapequa, NY; Delia Bauer of Coral Springs, FL along with 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and many, many friends. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to remember her to the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 10432 Twin Rivers Rd., Columbia, MD 21044 and/ or to the Msgr. Richard H. Tillman Endowment Fund, c/o St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and/or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to the Witzke Funeral Homes, Inc., Columbia, MD.
