Jan was born to Leliah Madge Henderson and Percy Forest Willison in Chester WV on May 30, 1941. Growing up in Chester, she attended Chester High School, where she was in the choir, pep club, yearbook staff, and National Honor Society. After graduation in 1958, she went on to complete her bachelor’s degree in education from University of Maryland College Park.
On August 21, 1965, she married Robert “Bob” Wayne Rieck, with whom she raised a daughter Christine, and a son, David. She started a small business, through which she made doll clothes for dolls ranging in size from Barbie and Ken up to the American Girl dolls. For many years she sold these clothes at area craft fairs, eventually branching out to eBay. She was also an avid reader, never far from a book or two. Through her love of dolls, she participated in various doll groups, traveling to New York and other cities for conventions.
Jan was preceded in death by her father, Percy, her mother, Madge, and her husband Bob. She is survived by her two children, Christine and David, and her grandchildren, Megan, Rachel, Kyle, and Colin.
