Joanne Marie Bormuth

Passed away Monday December 23, 2019 with complications from a stroke, a fall and dementia. She was born on December 24, 1941. She is survived by her husband of 37 years Robert H. Palm, Jr. and four sisters; Betty Welsh of Ferndale MD, Carol O’Brennan of Lewis DE, Linda Moran of Georgetown TX, Deborah Simmons of Baltimore MD and numerous nieces/nephews. She graduated from Elizabeth Seton High School in Baltimore, MD. She later earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland - University College in College Park, MD. She began her college studies in 1971 while working in Germany. She worked in personnel at the National Security Agency for 34 years and retired at age 55 to discover/rediscover her passions and to rediscover her love for the Catholic religion. She enjoyed walking, yoga, skiing, summer vacations in Maine and a love for the arts both written and visual. Joanne’s home since May of 2017 was Somerford Place – Columbia. We could not have found a better place for her. Her free spirit was maintained and fostered in a caring, loving family-like setting.
