
Born in Washington, DC, on September 4, 1931, Mary grew up in Georgetown and graduated from the Visitation Academy of Frederick Maryland. She attended The Catholic University of America and worked at Georgetown University before marrying William (Bill) Blair Kamenjar to raise her four devoted children. She loved her family, her friends, and her home in Flower Valley. Mary was a long-time member of Saint Patrick’s Church in Rockville and was a spiritual partner with the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (Monroe, MI). Mary’s professional life included a career in retail. She was especially proud of her work with the Montgomery County Commission for Women in Rockville and her volunteer work at the Montgomery County Libraries.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Margaret Kuhn, and by her husband Bill, to whom she was happily married to for 48 years.
She is survived by her beloved children: daughters, Christine K. Cavanaugh (John), Mary Elizabeth “Betsy” Sager (Don), and Ann Margaret Kamenjar-Ginty, and son William Blair Kamenjar Jr.; and grandchildren: Sam, Leah, and Ben Ginty. She is also survived by sister-in-law Eileen Heretick and numerous nieces and nephews.
A service will be held on July 5, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring, MD 20906.
