Mike was one of the finest people I ever worked with (at NSA), or more generally ever met.

I was greatly shocked, and saddened, at the news of his death.

My sincere condolences to his family.

I've know Mike for over 40 years having worked with him at NSA. He made major contributions to the Agency's mission and was a dedicated professional, but more importantly he was a true gentleman and a wonderful colleague and friend. He had a huge heart and was kind to a fault. I will remember him always and warmly as a great guy who cared. He was truly one of the good guys and will be sorely missed by those of us lucky enough to have known him. My deepest condolences to his family. Sincerely, John Capece

My deepest condolences to Anne, Emily and Brian, and the entire Fleming family. It was really sad to hear the news that Mike was ailing and then gone so fast.
My memories go back to high school and college. Mike and I did everything together, like the Science Fair (ozone forever) at Purdue; the Student Council, that forced us to the library to get a copy of Parliamentary Procedures; basketball, where I had to join St. Marys to be on the CYO team; track, when our half-mile relay team made the finals and Mike was the only one who realized it - the coach was gone; military Draft physicals in Indy; of course EE at Purdue; and weddings.
And, those warm memories of the Fleming household on Crestview Court, two blocks from school. The good old days with Kath, Janet and Al (really Karen).
