After a brief and courageous battle with a Esophageal Cancer, Muriel W. Bradley, 85yrs, passed away peacefully at home on January 8, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. As a longtime resident of Howard County, Muriel spent the last 60 years involved with and contributing to her community. Along with raising four children, she participated in many of their school activities, remained very involved with her church and, over the years, her generous spirit lead her to community service through several outreach programs. She was born and raised in Maryland where she and her husband established a warm and loving home for their family. She enjoyed everything about the Chesapeake Bay, spent many summer vacations camping along North and Mid-Atlantic regions and, after retiring, became quite a world traveler! But her greatest joy in life was caring for and spending time with her family and friends. She welcomed everyone into her home and she hosted most of holiday and family gatherings for decades. This loving and beautiful soul will be deeply missed by her devoted husband of 65 years, Daniel F Bradley Jr., her 3 children Lydia Bradley Umlandt, Sheila Bradley Geist and Andrew Wallace Bradley, and preceded in death by her son Daniel F Bradley lll, along with her 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. We will forever miss her kind, gentle, generous and loving light as she shined brighter than she’ll ever know. Family will receive friends at Witzke Funeral Homes, Inc., 5555 Twin Knolls Rd., Columbia, MD 21045 on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Funeral services will be held at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 12700 Hall Shop Rd., Highland, MD 20777 on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at 11am. Interment George Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Muriel’s memory to Grass Roots Crisis Intervention Center, 6700 Freetown Rd., Columbia, MD 21044, or www.grassrootscrisis.org .

Muriel was a shining light at our church, St. Mark’s Highland, for friendliness, hospitality, and caring. She drew us all together for her outreach to Grassroots, for which she would keep a year-long calendar of cooks to share the work. She drove people to church who needed a ride, she visited nursing homes bringing good cheer, even train books, and the Eucharist. She always had time for people. She will be sorely missed. God bless you, Muriel!

Muriel, the sweetest soul and definition of love. She is one amazing mom and has given me the most precious gift - a family - and not just any family - my Bradley family. I am so fortunate to have had Muriel in my life. Your family will keep you close and in our hearts forever.

Of Mrs. Bradley's considerable gifts, the one I appreciate the most is the mighty family she and Mr. Bradley raised. She taught her children to love and be loved, and they learned it by watching her. The entire Bradley clan is a thing of beauty. It's an honor to know them and her. Godspeed, my dear friend.

Dear Bradley Family, I cant begin to tell you how much Muriel was loved by us all. As you know we have shared many memories with her and will cherish each and every one of them. Some of my favorite memories are the times we spent at 340 Old Bailey Lane with the Bolte family celebrating New Years Eve. I would spend hours talking to your Mom and Dad as we rung in a new year. I hope this new year brings you many happy memories of Muriel as well. We love you all! Rest now sweet Muriel. You will always be in our heart!
