OBITUARY

Rudolph John Gregrich

November 7, 1942April 24, 2018

Rudolph “John” Gregrich was born to eternal life on April 24, 2018. He was preceded in death by Beth Ann Weinman, his devoted wife, whom he described as the love of his life and best friend. As a father, John was the consummate teacher to his three children, Joseph, Sarah, and Ann, by being a constant presence in their lives. He was the proud grandfather of Shannon, Ryan, Ella, Jonny-Ray, Max, John, and Julia.

John was born on November 7, 1942 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Rudolph and Mary (nee Marsh) Gregrich. He was preceded in death by his parents and his younger sister Loy Diane Gregrich.

John graduated from Marquette University High School in 1960. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Marquette University in 1965 and furthered his education by earning a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Wisconsin Madison. John dedicated his life to serving others through his career in state and federal government, finishing his career in the Executive Office of the President. His Jesuit upbringing inspired his gifts of teaching and charity and fostered a desire to bring the word of God to many.

John appreciated the telling of a good joke, the opportunity for an intelligent debate between friends, time spent in nature, and the chance to take in a game at the ballpark. John imprinted his devotion to Buddy Holly, and his love of good music, on everyone close to him through listening sessions, televised programs, and in-depth conversations.

John’s greatest satisfaction was knowing his children and grandchildren were safe, healthy, and well taken care of. We are certain he has arrived “safe and sound”.

Private services were held with the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Maryland Food Bank are appreciated. www.mdfoodbank.org.
