A lifelong resident of Maryland, Lyndsey was raised by her parents Robert “Bob” Dempsey and Mary Dempsey (O’Brien) in Columbia, MD. During her teenage years, Lyndsey attended school in Crofton, MD, and was a proud member of Arundel High School’s graduating class of 2003 in Gambrills, MD. Throughout her life, Lyndsey cherished spending time at the beach and would eagerly embrace any opportunity to visit the ocean, including numerous trips to Ocean City, MD, a special place to Lyndsey, where many of her core childhood memories were formed. Most recently, Lyndsey was a resident of Baltimore, MD, in the historic neighborhood of Fells Point, where she enthusiastically celebrated the Baltimore Orioles baseball team, without reservation.
Lyndsey lived her life as a care-free spirit who enjoyed spending time laughing and socializing with family and friends. From an early age, Lyndsey had an undeniable charisma that highlighted her unique nature. She was effortlessly fun and silly, which gave her a magnetic energy that could elevate any atmosphere and always made a lasting impression.
Over the years, Lyndsey held many interests including film, photography, music, singing, and storytelling. Curious by nature, Lyndsey gravitated towards the spooky, mysterious, and unexplainable phenomena. Lyndsey’s genuine affinity for the unconventional may have challenged social norms, but it also made her a more open, authentic, and interesting person. You could always count on Lyndsey to offer a fresh perspective or an unexpected anecdote.
Lyndsey was a talented artist and excelled in any medium that allowed her the freedom to express her creativity. Most notably, Lyndsey had a daring sense of style, was a gifted hair & makeup artist, and was a masterful craftsperson. Lyndsey’s handmade cards and gifts were unparalleled.
Lyndsey was a fiercely loving individual who cared deeply for her family, pets, and friends. In October 2021, Lyndsey fulfilled her lifelong dream of motherhood when she welcomed her son, Benjamin “Benny” Smith, to the world. Without question, Lyndsey’s happiest achievement in life was being Benny’s mom. Life with Benny brought Lyndsey so much joy and she often raved about being his mother. Lyndsey’s legacy of eternal love endures in the memory of her earnest devotion to her son and her infinitely caring heart. In choosing to live more lovingly, with kindness and compassion for ourselves and others, we honor the life of Lyndsey and carry on her heartfelt spirit.
