Virginia was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Michalski, Jr.; devoted mother of Christopher Michalski (Carole) and Mary DeLuca (Mark); cherished grandmother of Zachary Michalski, Caitlyn Michalski, Marisa DeLuca, and Andrew DeLuca; and proud great-grandmother of Mitchell Michalski and Alora Rae Michalski. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawson Corbin and Eleanor O’Brien Corbin; her brother, Lawson “Eugene” Corbin; and her sister, Catherine “Kay” Butler.
Born and raised in Baltimore, Ginger graduated from The Catholic High School of Baltimore in 1953 and later worked in the main office of Bethlehem Steel in Sparrows Point. In 1957, she married Ed, with whom she shared 61 wedding anniversaries and a lifetime of devotion. Together, they raised their family in the close-knit Edgemere community on the southeastern Baltimore County peninsula. In 1998, Ginger and Ed moved to Columbia, where they became parishioners of St. Louis Roman Catholic Church. Most recently, Ginger resided at Brighton Gardens of Columbia.
Affectionately known as Nana, Ginger will be remembered for her warm smile, the twinkle in her eye, and her genuine love of conversation and laughter. Her family was the joy of her life. She shared with Ed a deep love of sports—always cheering from the bleachers for her grandchildren—along with a fondness for beach getaways and long walks wherever the path led.
