

Born on August 28, 1950, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, Bill grew up in the small historical town of Perryopolis and could trace his ancestry back six generations.
Bill was the son of the late George W. Duff and the late Kathryn (King) Duff. He is survived by his brother James Duff (Cortland, Ohio) and was predeceased by his brother Warren and sister Marilyn (Page).
Bill graduated from Frazier High School in Perryopolis with the class of 1968 where he played on the football team. In 1972 he earned a BA in Political Science from California State College (PennWest/California) in California PA. He married his college sweetheart, Eva Gogola Duff, in 1973. For the next six years he worked in the financial services field in Fayette and Allegheny counties before moving to Ellicott City.
Bill began his career with the Federal Government supporting the logistics functions of the special liaison office in Cheltenham England. Upon his return to the United States, he supported numerous efforts including system administration, FOIA requirements and program management.
Bill had a lifelong love of railroads and model trains. He was an active member of two train organizations: Train Collectors Association and the Lionel Collectors Club. He and Eva traveled extensively in the United States, Canada and Europe enjoying restored trains and railroad museums.
Bill was a charter member of the Ellicott City 50+ Senior Fitness Center when it opened in 2015. He regularly attended nine classes a week and actively recruited new members.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years Eva; his brother Jim, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donations may be made in Bill’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
A private service will be held at a later date in southwestern Pennsylvania.
