William Antonio "Tony" Morrison

William Antonio "Tony" Morrison, age 88, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on February 15, 1938, in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies, Tony was the youngest of five children born to Charles and Clarice Morrison. From a very early age, he discovered a lifelong passion for wheels and engines. As a teenager, he worked alongside his father in the family’s meat trucking business. His natural talent behind the wheel was undeniable; he mastered driving so quickly that he became the youngest person in Jamaica to achieve a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

As a young man, Tony married Martha Salas. Seeking new horizons, the couple made the life-changing decision to migrate from Jamaica to The Bronx, New York. Together, they grew their family with the births of three children: Ricardo, Charles, and Christina. Later in life, Tony’s path took a beautiful new direction when he met the love of his life, Linda Ruth Skypes. The two married, and Tony proudly welcomed his daughter, Kimberly, into his life and family.

In New York, Tony’s exceptional driving skills led him to a successful, long-term career with Amarusso Construction Company. His love for driving came in handy as he mastered heavy machinery such as backhoes, bulldozers, and cranes, operating nearly every type of heavy equipment on the job site. Tony didn't just use his construction skills for work—he used them to build a literal foundation for his family. Combining his professional expertise with pure grit, Tony built his own home from the ground up in Mt. Kisco, New York, hand-constructed alongside a dozen close friends and family members.

Seeking warmer weather, Tony and Linda eventually relocated to Hobe Sound, Florida, where Tony’s passion for building continued as he constructed yet another beautiful home for them to enjoy. Florida became a haven for family connection. When he wasn't tending to his beloved gardening, Tony took immense joy in nurturing his grandchildren during the hot summer months. He loved passing down his lifelong passion for the road, famously spending his summers teaching his granddaughters, Alicia and Niamani, how to drive. From the youngest CDL holder in Jamaica to a grandfather patiently teaching the next generation, Tony’s love for driving and family came full circle.

Tony was reunited in eternity with those who went before him. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Charles and Clarice Morrison, along with his four dear sisters: Adrice, Idaline, Ivy, and Molly.

Tony leaves behind to deeply treasure his memories his loving wife, Linda; his three children, Ricardo, Charles, and Christina; his stepdaughter, Kimberly; his cherished niece, Adrienne Ross, and grandniece, Kadriene Dixon; his six cherished grandchildren: David Bourne, Alicia Morrison, Christopher Barr, Niamani Morrison, Josh Frank, and Holly Perez; his five precious great-grandchildren; and a vast, loving host of extended relatives, family, and friends.
