

He was born August 22, 1945 in Belleview, IL son of George and Dorothy (Barnes) Simpson who preceded him in death. He married the love of his life Carol Jeane Crowdus on June 23, 1977.
When Arch and Carol met they combined their families together an most would say they were like the “Brady Bunch” Arch would correct them and say “No, we are the Beverly Hillbillies” His family meant everything to him and he could be no more proud than when he watched his grandchildren race play baseball, basketball or danced.
After moving from Illinois he was employed by Kelly Pontiac and was made Service Manager of Kelly Dotson Volvo. He went into business for himself as an auto technician and then his very successful pride and joy, Simpson Import Center. Founder and president of Winged Outlaw Warriors established in 1999. Owner and partner of JLA-Jerry, Larry and Arch sprint car and of several other sprint cars. His love for this sport was shared by his family and friends all across the United States. It truly was his passion and he was most happy on the dirt track.
He is survived by his wife Carol of the home, sons David Simpson and Bryan Allison and wife Tracy, daughters Karla Bleything and husbandTravis, Krissy Wyatte and Amie Greening all of Columbia MO. Sisters Verna Strowmatt and Carol Ann Bloodworth both of Illinois and Grandchildren Mallory, Morgann, Brittney, Tyler, Hannah, Gavin, Adilynn, Rylee and Quyncie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Ida Ma Davis and Brothers Tommy and Harvey Simpson.
“Racers are lucky enough to have two families. One they are born into and the other they gain at the track.”
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 15, 2016 at Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 pm, Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 11:00 am also at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum in memory of Archie Simpson, #1 Sprint Capital Place, Knoxville, IA 50138.
