Beverly Ann (Brown) Roemer, age 87, of Columbia, Missouri, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026. Beverly was born on January 7, 1939, in Lebanon, Missouri, to Ivan Brown and Beatrice Pauline (Day) Brown, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a lifelong believer in the Methodist faith.
On June 3, 1968, Beverly married the love of her life, Ervin Lewis Roemer. Together they built a loving home and devoted themselves to their family. Lewis preceded her in death on August 27, 1987. Beverly retired from the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital, where she worked as an ICD-9 Medical Coder and Biller. Throughout her years in the community, she generously volunteered her time and talents. Beverly and Lewis served on the PTA Board of Fairview Elementary School. She also served on the Board of Directors of the West Broadway Swim Club and the MORE Group.
Beverly was blessed with remarkable artistic talent and found great joy in drawing and painting. Her creativity brought beauty to the lives of those around her, and some of her happiest moments were spent with a pencil, brush, or canvas in hand.
Above all else, Beverly cherished her family. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Elizabeth Roemer of Harrisburg, Missouri; her son, James Lewis Roemer and his wife, Amy, of Bluffton, South Carolina; and her beloved grandchildren, Lauren Roemer and Bennett Roemer. She is also survived by her brother, Gregory Alan Brown and his wife, Brenda, of Richland Hills, Texas. In addition to her parents and husband, Beverly was preceded in death by her brother, Gordon Rex Brown.
The visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 5, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a small, private graveside service for family. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Second Chance Animal Rescue, a cause close to Beverly’s heart.
“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near; still loved, still missed, and forever dear.”
