Cale was born December 31, 1982 in Alton, IL to Kerry and Molly Barnhart Blaine. In 2001, he graduated from Marquette High School in Alton and shortly thereafter, he joined the US Marine Corps. He served in the Marines until 2007, working in Democratic Republic of Congo, Ecuador, and Croatia as an Embassy Guard. After his military service, he earned his Associates Degree from Sanford-Brown College in St. Louis and worked as a traveling Surgical Tech. He was able to travel across the US working in many hospitals before settling down to start a family. He married Dominique Kammel on March 8, 2014 in College Station, TX. In 2017 they moved to Columbia, where he continued his work with MU Health Care and the Harry S. Truman VA Hospital. As an avid outdoorsman, he found joy in teaching his son, Sawyer, the art of fishing. You would often find him on his boat exploring the local lakes. He loved deer hunting and bonded with his Dad while planning and talking everything “hunting” together. A good campfire and sharing “spooky stories” with Sawyer happened often. He had fun playing peek-a-boo and being silly with his other son, Waylon. Cale had a huge heart and a thoughtful and caring soul and will be greatly missed by so many.
Cale is survived by his wife, Dominique; two sons, Sawyer Gareth & Waylon Fynn; siblings, Jesse (Dani) Blaine of Mansfield, TX and Meghan Blaine of Columbia; parents, Kerry and Molly Blaine of New Bloomfield; nephew and niece, Dylan and Lillian Blaine; and his paternal grandfather, Floyd Blaine, Jr. of East Alton IL.
