Dr. Carl H. Ide, 85, of Columbia, Missouri, died on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Parkside Manor. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Dr. Ide was born November 15, 1928, in New York, New York, to Carl and Anna Caroline Ide. He married Johanna Maria Herrle on May 20, 1962 in Brooklyn, NY and she preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Ann. Carl grew up in Hamburg, Germany. He went to NYU for his undergrad, and returned to Germany to complete his medical degree. He was an ophthalmologist in Columbia at the University Hospital for 29 years and later at the VA Hospital. He served in the US Army Reserves as a Colonel. Survivors include his daughter, Marianna Ide of Columbia; his son, Tony C. Ide of Columbia; his granddaughter, Stefani Wilkinson; and one great-granddaughter.
