

Charles Allen Enochs, 64, of Ashland, MO passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014 in Boone Hospital. Charlie was born on Christmas Day 1949 to James (Bud) and Ruth Enochs of Columbia, MO. He was a 1968 graduate of Hickman High School. After graduation he worked for Bud Lyons Cattle Hauling, then University of MIssouri South Farms. Charlie went to work for the City of Columbia Street Department in 1978. He worked his way up the ranks to Assistant Street Superintendent. Charlie retired from the City of Columbia Street Department on January 2, 2006. Charlie married Sarah Highbarger in 1974 and had three children. Charlie enjoyed sprint car racing, fly fishing and hunting. Charlie was a member of Community United Methodist Church and a board member at the Columbia Credit Union. For many years, Charlie was an active part of the Bar-B-Que team for the annual Columbia City Picnic. Charlie helped develop and construct the Ashland Optimist Club building, swimming pool, and rodeo arena. Charlie was an active parent and member of Boy Scout Troop 707. Charlie is survived by his son Weston Enochs and wife Sara of Ashland, MO, his daughter Sadie Ebersole and husband Justin of Parsons, KS, and Landon Enochs and wife Katherine of Columbia. He has three grandsons, Alden and Asher Ebersole and Brandt Enochs. He has a brother Richard Enochs of Wilton, MO and sister Bonnie Simmons of Columbia. Charlie is preceded in death by his parents Bud and Ruth, grandparents David Allen and Ora Cleveland Enochs and grandparents Foster Charles and Elizabeth Mae Armitage. Services for Charles Enochs will be held at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbia, MO. Visitation will be Thursday, December 4 from 5pm-7pm and funeral services will be Friday, December 5 at 10:00am.
