

Cheryl Lea Benthall, 59, of Columbia, MO passed away Friday, November 26, 2021 after many years of battling diabetes. Private family services will be held at Memorial Funeral Home, and following her wishes, her ashes will be spread in Florida.
Cheryl was born July 29, 1962 in Columbia, MO to Andy and Kathryn Taylor Rule. She was a 1980 Graduate of Hickman High School where she was a Cheerleader and Pom-Pom Girl. On August 27, 1983 she married Dan Benthall in Columbia. They honeymooned in Orlando, FL and it soon became her favorite spot to travel, the family made trips there nearly every year. She loved to spend time in the sun boating at Lake of the Ozarks and the beaches of Florida. She volunteered at Russell Blvd and Fairview Schools for a few years as a student supervisor. She also worked several years at the University of Missouri in the engineering department, then worked 16 years as a dental assistant. Cheryl and Dan had recently moved to their new farm in Fulton. She enjoyed old black and white movies and crime television shows, like Perry Mason, and being a St. Louis Cardinals and Tom Brady fan.
She is survived by her husband, Dan E. Benthall; daughter, Samantha Benthall of St. Louis; sister, Leslie (Dale) Rule of Hallum, NE; parents, Andy (Kathryn) Rule of Columbia; a loving extended family; and her beloved dog, Kodak. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Wesley and Ora Rule, and her little dog, Kaci.
