Craig Thomas Mueller, 66, of Columbia passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at his home after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. A gathering of friends will take place on Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home.
Craig was born on June 8, 1956 in St. Louis, the son of Lloyd Joseph Mueller, Jr. and Sally Lee (Anderson) Mueller. He was a 1974 graduate of McClure North High School. While attending The University of Missouri in Columbia, Craig participated in Marching Mizzou. This tuba player met and fell in love with a certain clarinet player, Lesley Gayle Pauley, whom he married on December 31, 1977.
Craig was enthralled by space exploration and all things scientific. In his younger years, he enjoyed camping, hiking, and canoeing. He enjoyed building models, reading, and music. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and doting grandpa.
Craig is survived by his wife, Lesley; one son, Christopher Michael (Samantha) Mueller; two grandchildren, Emma Addison Mueller and Zachary Stephen Hicks; a host of nieces and nephews; and a special group of loving and supportive cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland in care of the funeral home.
