

Daniel Wayne Sparks, 57, of Lesterville MO was called to his heavenly home on Tuesday, December 22nd, 2020, surrounded by his wife, Kim, daughters Alisha and Jessi. Daniel was welcomed into the arms of Jesus, hearing his Savior say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”
Visitation will be held from 2-5pm Saturday December 26th at the First Baptist Church in Bland Mo. Funeral Services will be held at 2pm Sunday December 27th at the First Baptist Church in Bland Mo with Rev. Leo Roberson, Rev. Don Kelly, and Brother Mitch Bryant officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Bland Union Cemetery.
On October 18th, 1963, in Cleveland, Ohio, Daniel was born to the late Carles Eugene and Rose Marie (Hudson) Sparks. Daniel was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Kimberly Michelle Roberson, on December 30th, 2006, in Bland, MO.
Daniel proudly served his country in the Combat Information Center aboard USS Edson (DD-946), the last all-gun destroyer in the US Navy. Daniel’s highest calling was when he was called to serve the Lord as a pastor. He served as pastor of Hawk Point Baptist Church for nine years before accepting the call as the full-time pastor at Fellowship Baptist Church of Lesterville, MO, in December of 2019. Living out Jesus’s command in Matthew 28:19, Daniel loved to teach and preach the word of God to all who would listen. Daniel loved being outdoors, where he would grill and smoke meats in his spare time. He enjoyed making black powder bullets and teaching his granddaughters how to shoot and drive and fishing and building with his son and grandsons.
Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Kimberly, three daughters, Alisha (Abe) Adekunle of Lesterville, MO, Jessi (Ryan) Evans of Frisco, TX, Lequita Sparks of Columbia MO, and a son Thomas Sparks of the home. He was a proud Poppa to his nine grandkids, Konner Evans, Kylie Evans, James Chick, Makenna Anderson, Marcus Anderson, Kenzie Evans, Danny Fox, Killian Evans, Jamila Adekunle. He is also survived by his mom, Rose Marie Sparks of Bland MO, his brother Stephen E. (Colleen) Sparks of Bland, and his sister Diana Mayfield of Bland. Also surviving Daniel are his in-laws Leo and Carolyn Roberson of Bland, Kevin and Sherrie Roberson of Cleveland MO, Kris and Cara Roberson of Lake Mary, FL, and many nieces and nephews.
Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Carles Eugene Sparks, and a brother, Thomas Sparks.
