David Lawrence Martin, 58, of Columbia, Missouri was received into Glory October 10th, 2018. Although his passing, from an apparent heart attack, was sudden and unexpected he was thankfully surrounded by his family and friends.
David was a lifelong resident of Missouri. He attended Central Methodist University where he received degrees in business and economics, played soccer, and was a member of Alpha Phi Gamma “Mokers” fraternity. He met the true love of his life, Pamela Wiggins on a blind date New Years Eve of 1990, and they were married one year later. Their marriage was blessed by four children: Grant, Paige, Liam, and Isaac, aged 19-25 years, and a one month old grandson, Rowan.
David proudly owned and operated the Italian Village in Columbia, along with his two brothers, for more than 20 years. He truly enjoyed his work, it was a labor of love. He was passionate about his business and cherished the camaraderie and friendships he built with his customers and co-workers. David led a very full and rewarding life. He found joy in his family, work, and a variety of other activities including cruises, attending music festivals and concerts, and playing racquetball and golf.
David is survived by his wife of 26 years, Pamela (Wiggins); four children, Grant Martin, Paige Hinrichs (Garrett), Liam Martin, and Isaac Martin; one grandson, Rowan Hinrichs; mother, Patricia Prejean; step-mother, Marsheila Gast; sisters, Julie Deering and Billie Jean Martin; brothers, Jeffrey Martin (Tammy) and Richard Martin; and many nieces and nephews.
